Georges-Emmanuel Clancier
Georges-Emmanuel Clancier (1914–2018) was a French novelist and poet. He authored many works of fiction, most notably the cycle Le Pain noir, which brought him wide acclaim, as well as L’Éternité plus un jour. His poetry collections, including Terre de mémoire, Le Paysan céleste, and Passagers du temps, earned him the Goncourt Prize for Poetry. Honored with numerous awards, he also received the Prix des libraires and the Grand Prix de littérature from the Académie française. His writing, deeply rooted in themes of memory and time, continues to resonate as a landmark of modern French literature.
