PAUL BÉLANGER 

Born in Montreal in 1953, Paul Bélanger is a poet, essayist, and publisher. A major figure in contemporary Quebec poetry, his work explores memory, the body, nature, and human relationships through a lyrical and contemplative style. His first collection, Signets (1989), received the Prix Émile-Nelligan, establishing him as a significant voice in Canadian literature. Bélanger has since published numerous collections with Éditions du Noroît, where he has also played a central role as director, fostering the dissemination of Quebec poetry both nationally and internationally. His dual contribution as a writer and cultural mediator makes him a key figure in the literary landscape.
