Vincent Bardet
Born in 1947 in Clermont-Ferrand, Vincent Bardet grew up in the Paris region. He graduated in philosophy from the Institut d’Études Politiques and the University of Nanterre, before embarking on a career as a translator, essayist, and occasional poet. From 1980 to 2008, he worked at Éditions du Seuil, contributing to the dissemination of important literary and philosophical works. A practitioner of Zen Buddhism, Bardet has also played a role in introducing this spiritual tradition to a French audience through translations and introductory texts. His writings and activities reflect a lifelong engagement with the meeting of Western thought and Eastern spirituality.
