ZéNO BIANU
Zéno Bianu (1950–2022) was a French poet, playwright, and essayist, considered a central figure of contemporary poetry. Influenced by surrealism, the Beat generation, and Zen, he developed a luminous and expansive style where language becomes breath, incantation, and journey. A poet of both orality and the written word, he collaborated with musicians, painters, and actors, giving his work a performative dimension. Author of numerous collections, including Infiniment proche and Chet Baker, he also wrote essays and manifestos advocating for the transformative power of poetry. Rooted in a dialogue between East and West, his work resonates with themes of spirituality, love, and revolt, leaving a lasting impact on French literature.
