Daniel Aïram

Born in Lyon, France in 1958 Daniel Aïram studied graphic art before working several years as a printer. Devoted to his creative projects full-time since 1982, his paintings, prints and sculptures have been showcased in a number of exhibitions throughout Europe. Daniel Aïram currently lives and works in Nice, France.

 Terry Randy Awashish

Atikamekw Nehirowisiw of the Opitciwan community, Terry Randy Awashish is a multidisciplinary artist and a graphic designer. He works primarily as an illustrator, conceiving posters and visual identities. He is also interested in everything related to fine art print. In April 2017, Terry was awarded the Manitou-Kiuna Prize by the Kiuna Institute and the First Nations Education Council. In 2019, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in graphic design at UQAM’s Design School.

Julius Baltazar

Born in Paris in 1949, Julius Baltazar was noticed in his youth by Salvador Dali who took the budding artist under his wing and encouraged him to pursue his artistic career.

The works of Julius Baltazar, a mix of printmaking and painting, usually feature elements of intaglio printing, ink drawing and Arlequin pencil. A deep interest in literature led the artist to illustrate over three hundred works of poetry. The artist's work is featured in many important public collections in Canada, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Japan and France.
  

Alain Bar

Born in 1947, Alain Bar is a French engraver who uses intaglio printing, featuring sports and jazz themes. He has won several prizes, including the Grand prix de France des arts plastiques.

Carol Bernier

Carol Bernier was born in 1963 in Montreal, where she still lives and works. She holds a Master's degree in Visual Arts from the Université du Québec à Montréal. Since 1994, her engravings and paintings have been presented in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Europe in solo and group exhibitions.

Jean cortot

 Jean Cortot is a french artist and member of the Académie des beaux-arts. His work is heavily influenced by his love of philosophy and literature and he is said to paint poetry. His works have been known and sought after since 1950.

During his career Cortot has created paintings, textiles, posters, mural decorations and 'telephone-paintings'. Furthermore, he has illustrated book such as La charge du roi by Jean GIono (1965) and has produced many artist books (painted, etched and printed).

Olivier debré

 Olivier Debré was born in Paris in 1920. In 1939, after completing his studies in history and architecture, he became Le Corbusiers pupil. Having met some abstract expressionists in the United States, he became influenced by their paintings. From 1960 and onwards, his works were large scale and he focused on the interplay between color and lights on large surfaces.

In 1967, Olivier Debré represented France at the Expo in Montreal. He has also made sculptures, illustrations, designed a stamp, made stained glass and painted murals. He passed away in 1999.

Marc garneau

Born in Thetford Mines in 1956, Marc Garneau has been practising printmaking and painting for more than 40 years in Montreal, where he lives and works. His work has been featured in about 60 solo exhibitions and is included in important public collections, including the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal and the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec. He was awarded the Grand Prix de la Biennale du dessin, de l’estampe et du papier matière du Québec.

 Hélène Latulippe

Hélène Latulippe lives and works in Montreal. She has dual training with an undergraduate degree in furniture design from the Montreal Institute of Applied Arts (1968), and a BBA from Concordia University (2012).

As an emerging artist working principally in engraving, in less than 10 years she has risen to the level of an accomplished artist. Enjoying a national and international career, she has been able to instill her vision of the world, display her way of transcending print and make her contribution to our culture.

She has joined exhibitions of printed art in the United Kingdom, Norway and the United States. She regularly presents individual and group exhibitions across Canada. Latulippe has participated in several creative residencies, including in Norway, and at the Banff Center for the Arts and Creativity (7-week program of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec). Her works are represented in private collections, as well as the collections of Concordia University, the National Bank, and the Bibliothèque et Archives nationaux du Québec.

In 2023, Latulippe is expected for a 6-week artist residency at the Ballinglen & Arts Foundation, Ballycastle, County Mayo, Ireland. She will be present at the 13th International Contemporary Print Biennial of Trois-Rivières, and will participate in Clément Leclerc's collective exhibition/retrospective at Maison Hamel-Bruneau, Quebec.

rené laubiès

René Laubiès was born in Saigon in 1924 where he spent most of his childhood. In 1949, following his law studies in Morocco, he settled in Paris. Faithful to his painting practice since his adolescence, his work was well recognized and became in demand in the 1950's.

Living a nomadic lifestyle for over 30 years he travelled to Greece, Iran and Turkey. He also split his life between Paris and India where most of his creations have seen the day. His works have been influenced by oriental philosophies and are bright minimalistic abstractions. He passed away in India in 2006. 

jean-claude le floch

Born in 1945 and died in 2009, Jean-Claude Le Floch studied at the École des beaux-arts de Lorient, then at the Paris studio of the engraver Manuel Robbe. After returning to Brittany in the early seventies, Le Floch taught engraving at the École des beaux-arts de Lorient and gave classes for children in Vannes. However, he was mainly devoted to his career as an engraver. Through individual and group exhibitions, he became well-known in Brittany and Paris, as well as in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain and Sweden.

Janine leroux guillaume 

Born in 1927 and died in 2018, Janine Leroux-Guillaume was a Quebec engraver who was also dedicated to drawing, painting, collage and sculpture. She befriended many big names in the Quebec arts scene, including the signatories of the Refus Global. She is among the few Canadian artists who have been invited to the Lacourière-Frélaut studio in Paris, where she created many of her works between 1959 and 2000.

jean miotte

Jean Miotte, born in 1926 and died in 2016, is best known as a painter, associated with the “Informal Art” movement along with artists such as Jackson Pollock and Jean-Paul Riopelle. His work has been exhibited on both sides of the Atlantic, in the United States as well as in Switzerland, Germany and Spain. A foundation dedicated to his work was opened in New York in 2002.

Ed Pien

Ed Pien was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1958. He immigrated with his family to Canada at the age of eleven. In 1984 he obtained a master's degree in visual arts from York University in Toronto. The subject of numerous exhibitions, his works have notably been presented at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Drawing Center in New York, and the Centro Nacional de las Artes in Mexico.

Inspired by an amalgamation of influences from the East and the West, Ed Pien's work is anchored in the practice of drawing. His creations often take the form of large-format, complex installations through which the viewer wanders. The artist's works are included in important international collections, including those of the National Gallery of Canada, the Museo de arte y deseno contemporaneo in Costa Rica, and the Fundacion Antoni Tapies, in Spain. Ed Pien lives and works in Toronto.

francine simonin

Born in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1936, Francine Simonin has been working and living in Montreal since 1968. Her career spans four decades and she has had over 200 solo exhibits. She has also received many prizes and awards.

In 2004, the Musée National des Beaux Arts du Québec and the Monique and Robert Parizeau foundation gave her a prize to acknowledge and reward her contribution to the history of printmaking in Quebec. Her works are part of numerous public collections in Canada and Switzerland as well as many private collections around the world.

Béatrice Sokoloff was born in Switzerland and lives in Montreal, Canada, where she is a member of Atelier Circulaire. Her works, which have been exhibited regularly since 2006, are included in public and private collections in Canada, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, England, Italy, Romania and Israel.

roland topor

Born in 1938 and died in 1997, Roland Topor was a French draftsman, painter and writer. After studying at the École des beaux-arts in Paris, he had a diverse career as an illustrator for a film by Fellini, actor for Werner Herzog and film animator with René Laloux. He explored various genres, collaborating with both a satirical magazine (Hara-Kiri) and a women's magazine (Elle). He won various awards, including the Grand prix national des arts graphique of the Ministry of Culture.

josette trépanier

Born in Montreal in 1946, Josette Trépanier received a diploma in engraving from the École des Beaux-Arts in Montreal, before completing graduate degrees in visual arts. She briefly taught at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivière. Her work has been exhibited in various locations, including Canada, Germany and France.

Raoul ubac

Raoul Ubac was born on the 31st of August 1910 in Cologne. He spent most of his youth in Germany and eventually moves to Paris where he studies at the Sorbonne. In Paris, he meets Camille Bryen, Otto Freudlich and Andrée Breton and joins the Surrealist movement.

Ubac experiments with photography, notably with solarisation and petrification. In 1933 his experiments are exposed in a Parisian gallery.

He is also known for his drawings, his prints, his gouaches, his paintings, his reliefs, and his stained glass.

The artist passed away on March 24th in 1985.
